This patented system allows many samples to be milled at a time. 32 samples at once is possible. Particle reduction down to 1 um have been obtained in less than an hour and 0.1 um in about 2 hours. There are no processing vessels to clean since the milling is carried out in your own sample vial.
This patented technology has been shown to be effective at milling organic and inorganic materials down to sub-micron size (nano particles) with narrow particle size distribution, dependant on the operating conditions. Smaller particle size is possible with smaller milling beads.

Milling: Use this technology for optimization of milling in producing seed crystals for pharmaceutical research, optimization of formulations, investigation of nano-particles, catalyst research, cell disruption, sample preparation for analysis etc. A throughput of 100’s of samples per day allows you to investigate many parameters or prepare many samples without having to transfer samples out of their processing vial or clean the mill.
Dispersion: Use this technology to test dispersants and stability for Inks, pigment blends, cosmetics, crop protectants where the advantages of not needing to clean the mill is apparent.
Special advantages: Because the milling container is a simple vial, it is particularly suitable for milling air sensitive or hazardous materials that can be loaded and sealed into the vials in a glove box but processed in the Automaxion mill, outside the glovebox. Milling in pressure vessels is also simply accomplished so customers can let their imagination 'go wild' such as milling in liquid CO2.
